Q&A

1. What is the tournament format? Each age division has room for 24 teams. Each age division will consist of four groups of six teams. Each team within these groups will play three round robin games outside their group. At the conclusion of these three round robin games, the teams within each group will be ranked one through six. The top four teams in each of these groups move onto the Sweet 16 round with subsequent winners moving onto the quarterfinals, semi-finals and Championship game. Teams ranked 5 and 6 will play a final game against similar competition. Subject to the final number of registered team, the format may be altered.

2. Should we send our application in early? Last season our tournament sold out by the beginning of August. So if this is a tournament your team is targeting, we suggest you send us your application along with a deposit of $350. Please note the remainder of your team’s registration fee needs to be paid by September 15, 2009.

3. How do we know when our team has been accepted? Entry confirmations are sent via email once your application has been approved.

4. How many teams are accepted in each division? This year we are accepting a maximum of 24 teams per age division.

5. When will our first and last games be played? Our schedulers try very hard to accommodate all of our travel teams and work hard to ensure their first game is not scheduled until noon or later, on the Friday. However this may not be possible for all teams. Championship games are slated to finish around 7pm pm on the Sunday.

6. What hotels do you suggest we stay in? All teams requiring hotel reservations are expected to stay in our authorized hotels, which are posted in the HOTEL link on this page. We have partnered with quality hotels offering multiple price points each of which are within 5 to 18 minutes from our rinks and close to family restaurants and area attractions.

7. When will the schedule be ready? The schedule will be posted on this site no later than two weeks prior to the start of the tournament. Once the schedule is posted, should changes be required, we will email each of the affected teams.

8. When do I need to get you our final roster? If you want your team listed in the tournament program, we will need your team list no later than October 13, 2009. However, you may make changes to your roster up to one hour prior to your first game.

9. I would like to be a tournament sponsor or a vendor? If you are interested in finding out about sponsorship possibilities or would like to be a tournament vendor, please contact Madison jay at 647-746-0810 or email her at madison.jay@live.ca

10. If I have a question that isn't answered here, whom should I contact? Please email repsgm@rogers.com or if you would like to call us, please do so at 905-855-3437.

11. We've never traveled to Toronto before for a tournament, what other things are there to do while in Toronto? For a list of things to do while in Toronto, please click on the YOUR GUIDE INSIDE TORONTO icon located on the right hand side of this page.

12. What rinks will we play in? Depending on the final number of registered teams both the 00's and 99's will in general play their Friday and Saturday round robin games at Chesswood Arenas, while the 98's and 97's will play their Friday and Saturday round robin games at Westwood Arenas. The round of 16 will play at both rinks on Saturday with all subsequent playoff games being played at Westwood Arenas on Sunday.
